UAGTCA 2026 Year-End Review….
and a View Into What’s In Store for 2027

Hello UAGTCA Family, Friends, and Track & Field Community!

What. A. Year.

As we close out 2026, I find myself reflecting not only on the meets we hosted, races that were run, field events contested, records that were broken and medals that were earned, but on something much bigger…..it’s the thousands of youth we’ve had the privilege of serving this year.

For nearly 50 years, the United Age Group Track Coaches Association (UAGTCA) has used track & field as a vehicle for youth development. As a nonprofit organization, our purpose extends well beyond the finish line. We strive to provide young athletes with high-quality competition, safe environments, developmental opportunities, educational exposure, and experiences that build discipline, confidence, respect, hard work, and character.

To EVERY Athlete, Coach, Club, Team, Parent, and families, UAGTCA Official & Staff, UAGTCA Age Verifier, Timing and Results team, Athletic Trainers, Social Media and website content creators, Volunteers, Photographers, Donors,, High School and University Facility partners (University of Penn Ott Center for Track & Field, LaSalle College High School, Lincoln University, Widener University, West Chester University) and Supporters, THANK YOU for choosing, believing in and supporting UAGTCA in 2026!

Our Story Captured in a Special Way

One of the highlights of 2026 was seeing the UAGTCA story brought to life through a video featuring our collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania’s Ott Center for Track & Field. The video was made possible through the generous support of the USATF Foundation, which beautifully captures UAGTCA’s history, mission, and commitment to youth while showcasing how our partnership with Penn creates opportunities for young athletes and contributes to the Ott Center’s community impact. The finished product far exceeded our expectations, and we are incredibly proud to share it with you.

A Tremendous Year of Competition Indeed It Was…

We opened 2026 with 3 indoor meets at Penn’s Ott Center for Track & Field, providing our athletes with an opportunity to compete in a state-of-the-art facility through our successful 2-session format.

Our outdoor season returned to historic Lincoln University, an HBCU, where four Developmental Meets and our Championship Meet averaged more than 1,000 athletes each week. These events gave athletes the opportunity to develop, compete, sharpen their skills, and prepare for competition at the highest levels.

Our sincere thanks go to our partners at the University of Pennsylvania’s Ott Center for Track & Field and Lincoln University, along with everyone behind the scenes who helped us deliver safe, efficient, and highly competitive events throughout the year.

Beyond the Track: Opening Doors Through Education

One of our proudest NEW accomplishments in 2026 was launching the UAGTCA Pre-Season Showcase & Pathway to Education Experience, hosted in partnership with LaSalle College High School, with Germantown Friends School joining the experience to share additional educational opportunities and resources with our athletes and families.

This unique experience combined track & field competition with FREE educational exposure for athletes and families, including conversations about private-school opportunities, admissions, financial aid, affordability, and preparing early for future educational pathways. Track & field may bring us together, but UAGTCA’s responsibility to young people extends well beyond the finish line.

We are deeply grateful to La Salle College High School, Germantown Friends School, David and Jane Ott, and the USATF Foundation, whose vision, connections, and support helped make this experience possible.

Partnerships That Make a Difference
For the second consecutive year, UAGTCA partnered with Bras for Girls to provide professional fittings, education, and more than 400 FREE, brand-new sports bras to female athletes, helping young women participate in track & field with greater comfort and confidence.

A special THANK YOU to Dr. Lesko and the entire Bras for Girls team, especially those who supported us through that HOT Championship day at Lincoln University.

Summer Flagship Meet: RON JACKSON YOUTH INVITATIONAL

Our flagship Ron Jackson Youth Invitational capped off a memorable competitive year.

With facility improvements underway at Widener University, West Chester University graciously welcomed the UAGTCA in 2026, where athletes traveled from Canada, AL, CT, DC, DE, GA, MD, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX and VA to compete.

The weekend featured 11 meet records, brand-new Invitational medals, the return of the Mixed 4×200 Relay, and four $1,500 academic scholarships awarded to deserving student-athletes through the generosity of UAGTCA and our scholarship donors.

We were also honored to welcome home Olympic silver medalist, indoor & outdoor World Champion and UAGTCA alumna Nia Ali, who shared encouragement and inspiration with our young athletes.

And YES….we have to talk about those Parents & Coaches Relays! Four heats of parents and coaches suddenly remembering they “still got it,” but best believe, our UAGTCA Athletic Trainers watched hamstring VERY closely! It was DEFINITELY one of the true highlights of the weekend! None of This Happens Without You!

Again, our sincere thanks to our partners at West Chester University and Widener University for helping us host an exciting meet, including the use of Widener’s awards podium.

To UAGTCA Officials, Staff, Timing teams, Athletic Trainers, Volunteers: Thank You. You arrive early, stay late, educate, encourage, solve problems, protect our athletes, and give your time and talents generously. And long before the first athlete steps onto the track, our Administrative Team works tirelessly behind the scenes spending countless hours planning, organizing and coordinating.

And to EVERY athlete, Coach, and Spectator who chose UAGTCA competition in 2026…thank you for trusting us with your athletes.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! 

Now Let’s Turn to 2027

Guess what?! The UAGTCA IS TURNING 50!

In 2027, we will celebrate 50 years of athletes, 50 years of coaches, 50 years of officials and volunteers, 50 years of families, 50 years of competition, development, opportunity, and memories.

But most importantly….50 YEARS OF SHOWING UP FOR THE YOUTH.
Throughout 2027, we will honor those who built UAGTCA, celebrate the generations who have passed through it, recognize those who carry the mission today, and look ahead to the young people who represent our future. After all, you only turn 50 once!

2027 Indoor Season is Coming Fast!
