      Please Note: There will not be a meet on October 18th due to a prior commitment

      for use of the park on that date

Fee:    

·     The fee structure for 2008 has changed. We will no longer charge an entry fee for the Championship meet. The fee for the Development meets is

           $5.00 per Athlete per Development Meet which includes the cost of the Championship if qualified.

 

·         Note: We will continue to offer an up-front discounted fee for the 2008 Cross Country season.  The up-front discounted fee will be offered for the first two meets only. This system is strictly optional.  The normal registration system (where you pay for each meet individually) will still be in operation each week.

 

    1. The up-front discounted fee allows an athlete to compete in every developmental meet for a reduced fee, which must be paid up-front, at one time.  The athlete is automatically registered for each meet.  They simply report directly to the starting line (no more waiting in a registration line).

 

    1. If you wish to take advantage of this opportunity please come prepared with your one time payment of $25.00 on Sept. 6th or $20.00 on Sept. 13th.

 

·         There will be a fee of $1.00 to replace lost numbers.  You must purchase a replacement number if your assigned number is lost, misplaced or forgotten.  Once a number is replaced the old number is no longer valid.

 

 

Meet Requirements:

To qualify for the Championship athletes must pay and run in any four (4) of the (6) developmental meets (within their age group) either as a member of a team or as an unattached athlete.  They cannot use a combination of both.

 

 

Division & Distances:

·         Sub-Bantam (8 & Under) – 2000 Meters - athletes born in 2000 or after

·         Bantam (9 & 10) – 3000 Meters - athletes born in 1998 or 1999

·         Midget (11 & 12) – 3000 Meters - athletes born in 1996 or 1997

·         Youth (13 & 14) – 4000 Meters - athletes born in 1994 or 1995

·         Intermediate (15 & 16) – 5000 Meters - athletes born in 1992 or 1993

·         Young M&W (17 & 18) – 5000 Meters - athletes born in 1990 or 1991

·         Open Women (no age restrictions) – 5000 Meters - Women born prior to 1990

·         Open Men 5 Miles (no age restrictions) - Men born prior to 1990

 

Age Determination:

            Age as of 12/31/2008

 

Awards:

            Developmental Meets - Ribbons 1st through 10th place

            Championship Meet – Individual Awards 1st – 25th place

                                                Team Medals each member of winning team

            Parent Child Relay (Oct 11) Separate Awards

 

We will be awarding each member of the winning team a CHAMPIONSHIP MEDAL.  Each team must enter a team declaration on a form to be provided, declaring their intentions to compete as a team in a particular age/group, no later than Oct 20th. The declaration form must be accompanied by a $5.00 refundable registration fee.  The fee will be returned on Championship day after the team competes.

 

 

Special Considerations:

Ø       Our online entry system is now fully operational. It is the preferred method of entry. We will, however, still accept rosters sent via E-mail or fax. For those needing a paper form you can download a Team Roster form or an Unattached Roster Form here which you will need to duplicate.  Please complete a separate roster for each age group and sex.  For example, 7-8 boys on one sheet, 7-8 girls on a separate sheet etc.  Roster sheets should be mailed to 8427 Lynnewood Rd. Phila. Pa. 19150 or faxed to (215) 753-1217 or e-mailed to Maddy.w@comcast.net by no later than Sep 5th or they will be collected on Sep 6th.  Forms will not be returned.  I will also need to see birth certificates to verify age.          

 

Ø       For the 8-under, Open men and Open women Divisions you will only need three athletes to comprise a team. THIS APPLIES ONLY TO THE 8 & UNDER AND OPEN DIVISIONS.

 

 

Directions:

Take Route 76 Schuylkill Expressway To the City Avenue Exit.  Follow City Avenue to Monument Rd.  Go Left on Monument Road to Belmont Avenue.  Go left on Belmont Avenue to Belmont Mansion Road.  Go left on Belmont Mansion Road to Parking lot entrance on the left.

 

Parking:          

Parking near the finish line or the Registration area is RESERVED.

It is absolutely essential that the registration and finish line personnel have access to their cars.  The finish line personnel are responsible for putting up and taking down the course markings (flags, poles etc).  These items are very heavy and it is difficult to carry those long distances.  Registration personnel are responsible for posting results and resolving any and all problems.  In the past, incidents have occurred where the paramedics had to be called for an athlete, another needed minor medical attention.  I, as the meet director, could not respond immediately because my car was not in close proximity to the registration area. Therefore, I am reserving two parking spaces for the meet administrators.  Please do not park beside the goal posts or by the park bench at the far end of the finish line where the registration area is usually set up.
